[Members] BayWarp Meeting, Tuesday July 27

Neil,I imagine if the problem is lack of personnel its in the people who inspect and maintain the tracks and power supply.  The paper has said little about how much is involved in moving facilities.  My opinion of the VTA has diminished substantially after the experience with our last meeting and a couple of long waits for route 64 "frequent" service (40-minute headways! middle of the day).
Yes, I sure hope light rail is back up by mid August.  Then the question will be if we're still in town.  Lucille and I plan to fly to Bethlehem, PA on the 20th of August for a Society of Industrial Archeology conference and then take Amtrak back to San Jose.
So I'm hoping people keep getting vaccinated and the spread of COVID-19 slows.Curtis

I hope the light rail is moving by the time the August meeting rolls around. I'll look to see next month.

While I'm kind of surprised that it is taking that long to run again, I can see some of the problems to do it. VTA seems to be training a new set of operators to replace the deceased.

I wish the media was clearer about what it takes to legally run a public transit system. I'm also not understanding why political leaders have not declared this situation an emergency and overruled some of the regulations that prevent them from offering service right now.

Hi. I'm going to skip this meeting since light-rail is still not running.   After the last meeting one of the buses just didn't show up, and if the driver who did show up hadn't dropped me off on Monterey Highway beyond the end of his route I'd have been stranded.  Curtis On Thursday, July 22, 2021, 12:54:26 PM PDT, Neil Waldhauer <neil at blondeguy.com> wrote:
