Computers have been both a hobby (since 1965) and an occasional source of income on many fronts, but centered on logic systems and (some of) their real-world applications and hardware. These days that translates to networks and databases and everything entailed. I'm an obsessive auto-didact I suppose, so it all takes up huge amounts of time. It's made me a Jack-of-many-trades and a Master of nary-a-one. But also I'm long retired, so it's OK; keeps me off the streets. *That's* what I do with eCS, ...play. And 'regular' work too. Currently: v1.2R "fully updated" on two machines and v2.0RC2 (semi-updated) on one. Betimes I've installed v2.0RC4, RC5, and RC6a on a catch-and-release basis. Haven't tried RC7 ('silver' version) yet. - Bill -- WD "Bill" Loughman - Berkeley, California USA http://home.earthlink.net/~wdloughman/wdl.htm From driven_zen at sbcglobal.net Sat Sep 12 19:24:14 2009 From: driven_zen at sbcglobal.net (Mark Henigan) Date: Sat, 12 Sep 2009 19:24:14 -0700 Subject: [BayWarp] Sept meeting In-Reply-To: <200909121419.n8CEJGtS018544@flpd123.prodigy.net> References: <200909121419.n8CEJGtS018544@flpd123.prodigy.net> Message-ID: <4AAC57CE.7030205@sbcglobal.net> Neil Waldhauer wrote: > For the September meeting, how many of you can make it on the Tuesday the 22nd? > That's the scheduled day, but these meetings are for us, and there's no point > in scheduling a meeting for a day when it's inconvenient to meet. It will require both that I drive to work (rather than take the train) so that I will have my car in Scto to drive to the meeting, and that I leave work a little early so that I will have a prayer of arriving before the end of the meeting. > I'd like to know what you've been up to regarding eCS. Still trying to get NICs functioning, trying to install rc7 on one T42 (I don't see much point in trying to file bug reports since nothing seems to come of them when I do), and trying to transfer all of the functions of my work T30 to its replacement T43p. I can do Felton. :-) It will be excellent to catch up with you after quite a while. -M From bga0 at sbcglobal.net Mon Sep 28 13:41:07 2009 From: bga0 at sbcglobal.net (Benedict G Archer) Date: Mon, 28 Sep 2009 13:41:07 -0700 Subject: [BayWarp] BayWarp October and November meetings In-Reply-To: <200909271929.n8RJTUhe008940@flpi182.prodigy.net> References: <200909271929.n8RJTUhe008940@flpi182.prodigy.net> Message-ID: <6CED8B8B-6FA9-4AEF-ADF8-551412C3D043@sbcglobal.net> I have nothing on my calendar conflicting with the October meeting now, but given recent history I can't make any hard promises. The distance to Felton, which I assume is in the Santa Cruz area, would not rule out an occasional trip, but I will have two kids with spouses who we don't see much of traveling here from distant places that week, arriving now Monday and Tuesday and that will likely prevent my attending anything that week. The week before, Nov 16-19, I will be in Florida. Maybe something can be worked out at the October meeting.
