Except their idea for the name comes from a revisionist
(aka, ignorant) understanding of the French expression.
They associate it with revolution as in "progress."
The word "coup" means "blow." And, the concept is of
violent overthrow and takeover. Actually, if you put
the stress on the second syllable (kuDAYta) it sounds
appropriate for a computer group meeting site.
