[BayWarp] Warpstock planning

Hi Neil,

That is a certainly a thoughtful start! Is it your intent that the topics
you listed are in the nature of broad headings, and that there could be
several presentations or sessions related to each? I think the tracks are
a good way to conceptualize it, and you've got a good list of topics!

Regarding the Developer track, I wonder how many people there are who,
like me, have an interest in programming but who know very little about it
and have no idea where to begin? I wonder if there might be a place for
something like "Programming 101" - an introduction or overview and,
perhaps, a strategy for getting started.

For Users, I am glad to see printing and eCups among the topics you
listed.

Another topic might be Drivers. This is a broad area that could include
things like Genmacs, Uniaud, USB, Finding the right drivers for your new
device (scanner, camera, printer, etc.).

I am not sure where this fits topic-wise, but I think a session about
"Laptops and eCS" might be useful. Specifically, if one is shopping for a
new or used Laptop, what makes and models work well (have good driver
support) with eCS. Similarly, a session about "PC Motherboards and eCS"
might be useful. It's possible these could be combined, and they might
include information about models now available as well as strategies for
selecting eCS-compatible computers.

A third track might be The Future. This could include topics such as
Staying Current with eCS, What is Voyager?, What are the Strengths and
Limitations of eCS in Today's World (given current trends and hardware)?
Perhaps there could be a brainstorming workshop to develop ideas for ways
to fund ongoing and continued development (such as that being done by Paul
Smedley and others) that would keep eCS current.

Well, these are a few, somewhat disorganized ideas. Hope this helps.

Ted
